Suspension Spring ( Coil / Leaf ): Service and Repair

1.
Raise and support vehicle.
2.
Remove front wheels.
3.
Remove brake flexible hose off strut assembly.
4.
Remove lower strut attaching nuts, leaving bolts installed.
5.
Remove suspension support plate attaching nuts, Fig. 1.
6.
Remove lower strut bolts and lower strut assembly from vehicle.
7.
Support strut assembly in a suitable vise.
8.
Compress coil spring, using spring compressor tool No. 09727-87701 or equivalent.
9.
Remove suspension support dust cover and upper strut nut.
10.
Remove suspension support, bushing and upper coil spring seat.
11.
Reverse procedure to install, torquing attaching bolts to specification.
