CUSTOMER SATISFACTION NOTIFICATION - SPARE TIRE TIE-DOWN BOLT
Dear Chrysler Corporation Vehicle Owner:
The satisfaction of our customers is very important to Chrysler. Because of this, we are requesting owners of certain early 1992 Dodge Ram Wagon
vehicles equipped with 12 or 15 passenger seating to return them to their dealers for a special corrective service. The service and required parts as
described in this letter will be provided free of charge.
Your vehicle, identified on the enclosed form, is affected. Therefore we ask that you arrange for this important service without delay.
On involved vehicles, the floor-mounted spare tire may be difficult to remove without first unbolting and lifting the rear seat to allow the tire to be lifted
over the tie-down bolt.
The bolt is intended to release from a "keyhole" slot in the spare tire floor mounting bracket, so that the tire can be removed in a rearward direction from
beneath the seat. However, the head of the bolt is too large, preventing its removal in this way.
To correct the condition, your dealer will install a new bolt with the proper head diameter. The work will take about one-half hour to complete. However,
