VOLTMETER TEST
Fuel Solenoid Testing
1.
With the spring and plunger installed in the fuel solenoid and the electrical connector disconnected, connect the red lead of the voltmeter to the
wiring harness electrical connector. Connect the black lead of the voltmeter to a good ground location on the engine.
2.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and verify that there is approximately 12 volts with the ignition switch in the ON position. If their is
less than 10 volts, check that the battery is fully charged and check the fuel solenoid wiring circuit for high resistance or an open. If their is
approximately 12 volts at the electrical connector and the circuit is in satisfactory condition, go to step 3.
3.
Connect the electrical connector to the fuel solenoid (with the red lead of the voltmeter still connected to the electrical connector) and turn the
ignition switch to the ON position. If the voltage is less than 10 volts initially, or less than 6 volts after the solenoid has opened, replace the fuel
solenoid. If the voltage is approximately 12 volts with the ignition switch in the ON position and the solenoid does not operate, replace the
