Valve Springs - Installation
INSTALLATION
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In
addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High
Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury See: Hybrid Drive
Systems/Battery System, Hybrid Drive/Service Precautions
1. Install the valve seal.
2. Install the valve spring.
3. Using the valve spring compressor 9065A (1), compress the valve spring and install the valve spring retainer and locks.
4. Remove the spring compressor.
5. Remove the air hose from the spark plug hole.
NOTE: All valve springs and seals are installed in the same manner.
CAUTION: The rocker shaft assemblies are not interchangeable between the intake and the exhaust, failure to install them in the correct
location could result in engine damage. The intake rocker arms (1) are marked with the letter "I" (2).
