17. Lower the vehicle.
18. Reconnect the negative battery cable.
19. Evacuate the refrigerant system.
20. Charge the refrigerant system.
Removal
UNDERBODY REFRIGERANT LINES
WARNING: Refer to the applicable warnings and cautions for this system before performing the following operation. Failure to follow the
warnings and cautions could result in possible personal injury or death.
NOTE: To prevent any contaminates from entering the rear A/C system, make sure that the area around the sealing plate and rear A/C expansion valve
is clean of any dirt or foreign residue prior to disconnecting the underbody refrigerant lines from the rear A/C expansion valve.
1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the refrigerant system.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Disconnect the underbody refrigerant rear extension lines from the underbody refrigerant lines located behind the right rear wheel housing (Figure
1).
5. Remove the nut that secures the underbody refrigerant rear extension lines and sealing plate to the rear A/C expansion valve which extend through
the rear floor panel behind the right rear wheel housing.
6. Disconnect the underbody refrigerant rear extension lines and sealing plate from the rear A/C expansion valve.
7. Remove and discard the O-ring seals from the underbody refrigerant and extension line fittings.
8. Install plugs in, or tape over the opened underbody refrigerant and extension line fittings and rear expansion valve ports.
