RKE System - Slow or Intermittent Operation
NO: 08-15-98
GROUP: Electrical
EFFECTIVE DATE: Apr. 17, 1998
SUBJECT:
Slow or Intermittent RKE System
MODELS:
1998 (LH) Concorde/Intrepid
NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES BUILT PRIOR TO MARCH 9, 1998 (MDH 0309XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) functions for unlocking all doors and/or deck lid release responds slowly or intermittently.
DISCUSSION:
The early built Intrepid and Concord models have an RKE system with software that has an inherent delay of output actuation from approximately 1/2 to
1 second. This is an increase In system response time over the 97 LH of approximately 1/3 second. For those functions requiring dual actuation (i.e.,
unlock all doors & deck lid), the delay is approximately 1.7 seconds before the desired action occurs. Additionally, the receiver can intermittently miss
the second button press.
