Windshield Washer Reservoir - Description
DESCRIPTION

Diesel Engine
On vehicles with a gasoline engine, the molded plastic washer fluid reservoir (1) is mounted on the front of the Front End Module (FEM) carrier (also
known as the radiator closure), just to the left of the cooling module. The filler neck for the reservoir extends upward just past the upper radiator closure
member and through the upper radiator seal. On vehicles with a diesel engine, the molded plastic washer fluid reservoir is mounted on the back of the left
vertical member of the left fender support hydroform. Both reservoirs are constructed of opaque black plastic, which does not allow the fluid level to be
inspected without removing the reservoir filler cap (2).
The bright yellow plastic filler cap with a rubber seal and an International Control and Display Symbol icon for Windshield Washer molded into it
snaps over the open end of the washer reservoir filler neck. The cap hinges on and is secured to an integral molded hook formation on the top of the
reservoir just to the left of the filler neck when it is removed for inspecting or adjusting the fluid level in the reservoir.
On vehicles with a gasoline engine, the washer reservoir is secured through an integral mounting bracket at the top and bottom on the inboard side by
two screws to the upper and lower members of the radiator closure. Two integral tabs on the outboard side of the reservoir engage through two slotted
loops integral to the FEM carrier just inboard of the front lamp unit. On vehicles with a diesel engine, the washer reservoir is located and supported by an
integral post formation on the bottom of the reservoir in a locator hole in the support bracket at the base of the left vertical member of the fender support
hydroform, then secured by two screws through two integral tabs to the back of the vertical member.
