RAM 2500 Van V8-5.9L VIN Z LDC (2000)
This light comes ON when the washer fluid level falls below approximately 1/4 filled. The light will remain ON until fluid is added and the
ignition is cycled.
4. Speedometer
Shows vehicle speed in miles per hour and kilometers per hour.
5. Low Fuel Warning Light
This indicator lights when there is less than 1/8 tank left of fuel.
6. Fuel Door Location Indicator
Indicates the side of the vehicle where the fuel door is located.
7. Fuel Gage
When the ignition key is in the ON position, the pointer will indicate the level of fuel remaining in the fuel tank.
8. Oil Pressure Gage
The pointer should always indicate some oil pressure when the engine is running. The reading will vary according to temperature and viscosity
of the oil being used. A continuous high or low reading, under normal driving conditions, may indicate a lubrication system malfunction.
Immediate service should be obtained.
9. Gear Shift Indicator
The shift lever indicator shows the following shift positions: Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, 1st gear, 2nd gear.
10. Turn Signal Indicator
The arrow will flash with the exterior turn signal when the turn signal lever is operated.
11. Airbag Indicator
The indicator lights and remains lit for 6 to 8 seconds when the ignition is first turned ON. If the light stays ON or comes ON while driving,
have the airbag system checked. If the light does not come ON during starting, have the airbag system checked.
12. Check Engine Light (On-Board Diagnostics)
This light is a part of an on-board diagnostic system called OBD II which monitors the emissions, engine, and automatic transmission control
systems. If a problem is detected in one of these systems, the Check Engine light will come on. Although your vehicle will usually be drivable
and not need towing, service as soon as possible.
The light will come on when the ignition is first turned on and stay on briefly as a bulb check. If the bulb does not come on during starting,
have the problem diagnosed promptly

Prolonged driving with the light on could cause further damage to the emission control system. It could also affect fuel economy and
driveability.

The vehicle must be serviced before any emissions test can be performed.

If the light is flashing, severe catalytic converter damage and power loss will soon occur. Immediate service is required.
13. Security Indicator
This light will flash for approximately 15 seconds when the vehicle theft alarm is arming.
14. ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) Warning Light
This light monitors the anti-lock brake system, which is described elsewhere in more detail. This light will come on when the ignition key is
turned to the ON position and may stay on for 5 seconds. If the ABS light remains ON or comes ON during driving, it indicates that the
anti-lock portion of the brake system is not functioning and that service is required. See your authorized dealer immediately If the light does
not come on during starting, have the system checked by an authorized dealer.
15. High Beam Indicator
Indicates when the headlights are on high beam.
16. Seat Belt Reminder Light
The light will be on for up to 8 seconds when the ignition switch is turned to the ON position. Until the driver's seat belt is fastened, a signal
will also sound during the 8-second interval. In the event of an airbag indicator light failure, the seat belt reminder light will flash in its place.
Upon ignition ON, the seat belt lamp will flash 30 seconds and then turn OFF This Informs the driver that the airbag indicator is not working.
17. O/D (Overdrive) OFF
This light will illuminate when the overdrive lockout has been activated by depressing the Overdrive OFF switch.
18. Check Gages Indicator Light
This light illuminates when the voltmeter, engine oil pressure, or engine coolant temperature gages indicate a reading either too high or too
low. Examine the gages carefully, and follow the instructions above for each indicated problem.
