Intake Manifold: Service and Repair
Intake Manifold Replacement

WARNING: Fuel system is under pressure. Release fuel system pressure before proceeding.
1.
Disconnect battery negative cable then relieve fuel system pressure, refer to Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Service
and Repair.
2.
Drain cooling system, then remove air cleaner to throttle body hose.
3.
Remove throttle cable and transaxle kickdown linkage, Fig. 3, then remove all wiring connectors and vacuum hoses from throttle body.
4.
Remove PCV and brake booster hoses, and EGR tube flange from air intake plenum.
5.
Mark and remove all necessary wiring and vacuum connectors.
6.
Remove fuel hoses from fuel rail.
7.
Remove eight intake plenum to intake manifold hold-down bolts and remove plenum.
8.
Disconnect fuel injector wiring harness, then remove fuel pressure regulator and and fuel rail attaching bolts and lift assembly from vehicle.
9.
Separate radiator hose from thermostat housing, then heater hose from heater pipe.
