Temperature Control Cable

Removal

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Remove instrument panel upper finish panel, and instrument cluster housing assembly. 

3.

Remove radio. 

4.

Working through opening on top of instrument panel, remove heater temperature cable from white bit on top of plenum.

5.

Remove heater control as described in this section.

6.

Remove heater temperature cable from instrument panel.

Installation

1.

Install heater temperature cable into the instrument panel, attach it to control head and insert through the white bit. If white bit was damaged
then install the whole new heater temperature cable.

2.

Install heater control as described in this section.

3.

Adjust heater temperature cable as described under Adjustments - Temperature Control Cable.

4.

Install instrument cluster housing assembly.

5.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control
module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

Reconnect battery.

6.

Check system for proper operation as described under temperature control and/or air distribution.
