Power Steering Bleeding: Service and Repair
Without Air Evacuator Tool
1. Raise and support front of vehicle, then fill power steering pump reservoir until fluid level is between MIN and MAX marks.
2. Disconnect Ignition Control Module (ICM) lead to prevent engine from starting, then crank engine for 30 seconds.
3. Check fluid level and add as necessary. Then, while cranking engine again for 30 seconds, rotate steering wheel from lock to lock repeatedly. Do
not hold wheel at either lock more than five seconds; power steering pump damage may result.
4. Check and add fluid as necessary, then reconnect ICM and lower vehicle.
