Materials
Name
Specification
Silicone gasket and sealant
WSE-M4G323-A6
Removal
Remove the exhaust Y-pipe. For additional information, refer to Section
309-00 Exhaust System
.
Remove the exhaust support bracket.
Remove the bolts.
Remove the bracket.
Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor heat shield.
Remove the nuts.
Remove the heat shield.
Drain the engine oil.
Remove the drain plug.
Install the drain plug with a new gasket.
On a vehicle equipped with automatic transmission, remove the flywheel access cover.
Remove the oil pan bolts from the transaxle housing.
NOTE:
Remove the bolts and studs in the indicated sequence.
Remove the oil pan.
Discard the gasket.
Clean and inspect oil pan and cylinder block sealing surfaces.
Installation
NOTE:
Install the oil pan and tighten the bolts within six minutes of applying sealer.
Apply 8 mm dots of
Silicone gasket and sealant
to the sealing surface on the cylinder block.
NOTE:
Note the locations of the studs.
NOTE:
A new oil pan gasket must be used when the oil pan is being installed.
Position the oil pan and loosely install the bolts and studs.
Install the oil pan to transaxle housing bolts.
NOTE:
Tighten the bolts and nuts in the indicated sequence.
Install the oil pan.
On a vehicle equipped with automatic transmission, install the flywheel access cover.
Install the A/C compressor heat shield.
Install the exhaust support bracket.
Install exhaust Y-pipe. For additional information, refer to Section
309-00 Exhaust System
.
Fill the engine with the specified oil.
