Information and Message Center Warning Indicators
The following warning indicator bulbs are mounted in the information and message center located at the front of the vehicle in the center of the headlining. These indicators are wired directly to the Hybrid Electronic Cluster (HEC).
Maintenance interval warning indicator
The maintenance interval warning indicator is controlled by the central timer module. The HEC illuminates the indicator advising a scheduled maintenance.
Frost warning indicator
The frost warning indicator is controlled by a signal to the HEC from the ice warning sensor. When the outside temperature drops below 4 ° C (40 ° F) the HEC illuminates the frost warning indicator.
Ice Warning Indicator
The ice warning indicator is controlled by a signal to the HEC from the ice warning sensor. When the outside temperature drops below 0 ° C (32 ° F) the HEC illuminates the ice warning indicator.
Brake Pad Wear Indicator
The HEC receives receives information from:
- left front brake pad sensor
- right rear brake pad sensor
- left rear brake pad sensor
The sensors are normally closed, thus grounding the circuits to the HEC. If a sensor opens or if an open or short to battery occurs to the circuit the brake pad wear indicator illuminates.
Low level washer reservoir warning indicator
The low level washer reservoir warning indicator is controlled by a signal from the washer reservoir level sensor to the HEC. The HEC activates the warning lamp when insufficent water is in the reservoir.
Door ajar warning indicator
The door ajar warning indicator is controlled by the central security module and the liftgate/decklid switch. When a door is opened the HEC circuit is earthed and illuminates the indicator.
Bulb outage warning indicator
When the ignition switch is in position `II' the bulb outage warning indicator carries out a self-test for three seconds. If the brake pedal is not depressed, the bulb out warning indicator remains on.
