Safety Belt System - Front Safety Belt Retractor Cougar 1999 (08/1998-01/2001)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Move the seat fully forward.
  1. Remove the rear quarter panel trim. For additional information, refer to Section  501-05 Interior Trim and Ornamentation.

  1. Detach the upper safety belt anchor.
    1. Remove the cover.
    1. Remove the nut.

  1. Detach the waist guide loop.
    1. Remove the screw.
    1. Detach the clip from the B - pillar.

  1. Detach the lower safety belt anchor rail.
    1. Remove the Torx bolt.
    1. Detach the lower safety belt anchor rail from the inner sill.

  1. Remove the safety belt assembly.
    1. Remove the screw.
    1. Remove the Torx bolt.
    1. Lift the retractor from the body locators.

Installation
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
