Audible Warning Device: Description and Operation
Warning Chime System
The Lighting Control Module (LCM) warning chime will sound the following warnings:

key-in-ignition warning
-
safety belt warning
-
headlamp switch in PARK or HEAD warning
Key-in-Ignition Warning
The key-in-ignition warning chime operates as follows:

It sounds when the driver door is open or ajar with the key in the ignition switch.

It continues to sound until the key is removed or the LH front door is closed.

When the key is in the ignition, the ignition key warning switch is closed and ground is supplied to the Lighting Control Module (LCM)
through Circuit 158 (BK/PK).

When the driver door is open or ajar, the driver door open warning lamp switch is closed and ground is supplied to the LCM through Circuit
867 (DB).
Safety Belt Warning
The safety belt warning operates as follows:

When the ignition key is turned to RUN or START, power is supplied through Circuit 640 (R/Y) to the Lighting Control Module (LCM).

When ignition switch is in RUN or ACC, power is supplied through Circuit 296 (W/P) to LCM.

The LCM then supplies power through Circuit 450 (DG/LG) to illuminate the safety belt warning indicator lamp for up to 60 seconds, if the
LH front safety belt is not fastened.

If the LH front safety belt is NOT fastened during this time, the safety belt buckle switch remains closed, supplying ground through Circuit 85
(BR/LB) to the LCM and causing it to sound for six seconds.
Headlamp Switch On Warning
The headlamps on warning operates as follows:

The Lighting Control Module (LCM) sounds when the headlamp switch is in PARK or HEAD and the LH front door is open.

It continues to sound until the headlamp switch is turned OFF or the LH front door is fully closed.

When the LH front door is open or ajar, the LH front door open warning lamp switch is closed and power is supplied to the LCM through
Circuit 867 (DB).
