Fuel Pump: Service and Repair

1.

Loosen fuel line connections. Do not remove fuel lines at this time.

2.

Loosen fuel pump attaching bolts one to two turns. Using hand force only, loosen fuel pump to break gasket free.

3.

Rotate engine by tapping starter until fuel pump cam lobe is at low position. This will reduce spring tension against pump attaching bolts.

4.

Disconnect fuel pump inlet, outlet and return lines.

5.

Remove fuel pump attaching bolts, then the fuel pump. Remove and discard gasket.

6.

Reverse procedure to install. Run engine and check all connections for leaks.
