Voltage Regulator: Description and Operation
The Generator (GEN) package consists of the:

Generator.

Integral Voltage Regulator (VR).
The 95 amp generator is standard for the 4.2L, 5.4L and 6.8L gasoline vehicles. The 130 amp generator is standard with the 4.6L gasoline and 7.3L
DIT. Each generator produces direct current to supply the vehicle loads and charge the battery. The 95 amp and 130 amp generators are serviced as an
assembly with the exception of the integral voltage regulator. The generator is grounded through its mounting points.
