Parking Brake Cable: Service and Repair
Tension Release
1. Raise and support the vehicle enough to gain access to the front parking brake cable and conduit or the intermediate cable.
2. Remove the cowl side trim panel.
3. Have an assistant pull and hold the front parking brake cable and conduit or the intermediate cable rearward.
Parking Brake Control Tension Release
4. Insert a 4mm (0.156 in.) drill bit or equivalent pin into the hole provided in the parking brake control.
