Raise and support the vehicle on a hoist.

Using High-Lift Transmission Jack 014-00942 or equivalent, support the fuel tank and remove the fuel tank strap nuts.
6.
Disconnect the fuel filler tube and vent tube from the hoses at the fuel tank.
7.
Partially lower the fuel tank to gain access to and remove the rear vapor valve.
8.
Using Rotunda Fuel Storage Tanker 164-R3201 or equivalent, drain the fuel tank through the vapor valve opening.
9.
Disconnect the front vapor valve tube.
10.
Disconnect the fuel pressure and return lines at the pump.
11.
Disconnect the fuel pump and pressure transducer electrical connectors.
12.
Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle and set it on the ground or suitable workbench.

If no cracks or evidence of a leak are found, proceed to INSULATOR INSTALLATION.

INSULATOR INSTALLATION
1.
Clean all dirt and debris from the top of the fuel tank in the two affected areas.
