Water Pump Assembly (HCS) - Remove And Install (24 404 0)

Escort/Orion 1991 (08/1990-09/2001)

Removal and Installation

Remove

1. Drain the cooling system (refer to Operation Number 24 122 0).

2. Loosen the three waterpump pulley bolts.

3. De‐tension and remove the drive belt (refer to Operation Number 31 413 0).

4. Remove the water pump pulley.

5. Disconnect the two coolant hoses.

6. Remove the water pump (three bolts).

Install

7. Refit the components in reverse order.

Ensure that the mating faces of the cylinder block and water pump are clean.

8. Refill the cooling system and check for leaks (refer to Operation Number 24 122 0).
