Removal
1. NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms can occur while the vehicle relearns its
adaptive strategy. The customer needs to be notified that they may experience slightly different up shifts either soft or firm and this is a temporary
condition and will eventually return to normal operating condition.
Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the shift cable.
1. Disconnect the shift cable from the manual control lever.
2. Remove the shift cable from the bracket.
4. Remove the digital Transmission Range (TR) sensor.
5. Remove the Three Way Catalytic Converter (TWC).
6. Remove the main control valve body.
7. NOTE: If equipped, the transmission servo heat shield needs to be unclipped from the fluid pan rail and positioned out of the way for fluid pan
removal.
