1.
Remove the brake hose and the brake tube from the valve assembly, Figure 1. Save the two (2) copper washers and the one (1) flow bolt.
2.
Remove the two (2) attaching bolts and remove the valve assembly from the bracket assembly, Figure 1. Save the two (2) bolts.

Raise the rear of the truck with body jacks to attain a clearance of 6 5/8" between the bottom surface of each rubber jounce bumper and the rear
axle tube, Figure 6.
4.
Install a new valve, (E8TZ-2B547-B).
5.
Re-attach the brake hose and the brake tube to the new valve assembly.
6.
Tighten the two (2) bolts that hold the valve to the bracket assembly to a torque of 19-30 lb.ft. (26-41 N-m).
7.
Tighten the brake tube nut to a torque of 10-15 lb.ft. (14-20 N-m)
