Remove two screws securing the distributor cap to the housing, and remove the cap. If not disconnected, it may be swung aside for access to the
rotor.

3.

Pull the rotor off the rotor shaft.

4.

If the distributor cap seal is to be replaced, remove the dust cover and slip off the old seal.

Cleaning and Inspection

Wash the distributor cap with soap and water, and dry with compressed air.

Inspect the cap for cracks, damage, carbon tracking, or burns. Replace if damaged.

Wipe the rotor clean and check for cracks, carbon tracking or burns. Replace if damaged.
