1.
Place relief valve plunger assembly into pump body, then install split pin.
2.
If oil seal was removed, drive in new seal using tool T87C-6019-A or equivalent.
3.
Lubricate, then install gears into pump body.
4.
Install pump cover and attaching bolts. Coat bolt threads with Loctite or equivalent before installation.
INSTALLATION
1.
Ensure that oil pump and cylinder block mating surfaces are clean and free from old gasket material.
2.
Apply a thick film of sealer to both sides of oil pump gasket, then install gasket, oil pump and attaching bolts. Torque bolts to 14-19 ft. lbs.
3.
Install pickup tube and screen assembly using new gasket.
4.
Install crankshaft sprocket and oil pan.
