Ignition Control Module: Service and Repair
Ignition Module
Removal
1.
Disconnect the battery negative cable.
2.
Remove the distributor cap, rotor, and dust cover.
3.
Use a puller to remove the armature from the rotor shaft.
Ignition Module
4.
Disconnect three wiring harness connectors from the ignition module terminals and remove two module mounting screws. Remove the module.
Installation
1.
Coat the module mounting surface with a thin film of Silicone Dielectric Compound or equivalent, and mount on the heat sink with two screws.
2.
Note the differing lengths of the module harness leads, and connect them to the module terminals accordingly.
