Removal and Installation

Removal

All Vehicles
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
Vehicles fitted with power assisted steering
  1. Remove the power assisted steering pump assembly. For additional information, refer to Section  211-02 Power Steering.
All vehicles
  1. Remove the generator drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section  303-05 Accessory Drive.

  1. Remove the drive belt tensioner (two bolts).

  1. Disconnect the generator wiring.

  1. Remove the generator upper bolt.

  1. Remove the generator (two bolts).

Installation

CAUTION:
CAUTION:Make sure the generator is tightened using the following graphical sequence, otherwise premature failure of the mounting bracket may occur.
  1. Refit the components in reverse order.
