Front Seat Backrest Removal and Installation for Fiesta 1996: Built Up To 01-1999

Disassembly and Assembly

Disassembly

  1. Remove the seat.
    For additional information, refer to Front Seat in this section.

  1. Remove the head restraint.

  1. Prise out the adjuster knob center cap.

  1. Remove the adjust knob.
    • Release the spring retainer

  1. Detach the cover from the base of the seat backrest.

  1. Lift the seat cover over the adjuster spindle.
  1. Roll the cover up the seat back.

  1. Detach the inner cover retainer.

  1. Disconnect the tilt and slide mechanism cable.

  1. Detach the tilt and slide mechanism cable.

  1. Remove the seat tilt and slide lever cap.

  1. Remove the seat tilt and slide lever.
    • Rotate through 90 degrees.

  1. Release the lever guide.

  1. Remove the lever guide.

  1. Remove the two head restraint guides.
  1. Remove the backrest cover
  1. Remove the backrest.

Assembly

  1. To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
