Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Remover/Installer, Cooling Hose Clamp

303–397 (24–003)

Removal

  1. Drain the cooling system.
    For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Using the special tool, disconnect the radiator lower hose from the thermostat housing.

  1. Using the special tool, disconnect the radiator upper hose from the thermostat housing.

  1. Disconnect the two coolant hoses from the thermostat housing.

  1. Disconnect the cooling system degas hose from the thermostat housing.

  1. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) electrical connector.

  1. Remove the thermostat housing.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
