Remove the gearshift lever.
For additional information, refer to Gearshift Lever in this section.

Remove the air cleaner. For additional information, refer to Section  303-12 Intake Air Distribution and Filtering.

Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

Remove the exhaust front hanger insulator.

Detach the exhaust heat shield from the floor panel.

Remove the gearshift cables cover.

Detach the gearshift cables from the transaxle.

Detach the gearshift cables from the retaining clip.

Detach the selector cable from the retaining clip.

Lower the vehicle.

Remove the air distribution channel.

Cut the floor covering and the sound deadening material to gain access to the gearshift cable bushing.

Detach the gearshift cables bushing from the floor panel and pull the cables through to the vehicle interior.

Feed the gearshift cables through the floor panel and attach the gearshift cables bushing.

Install the air distribution channel.

Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

Attach the gearshift cables to the bracket and turn the abutment sleeves counterclockwise.

Attach the gearshift cables to the selector levers.

Attach the exhaust heat shield to the floor panel.

Install the exhaust front hanger insulator.

Attach the gearshift cables to the retaining clip.

Attach the selector cable to the retaining clip.

Install the gearshift lever.
