Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Retractor, Piston, Rear Caliper

206 - 012 (12 - 006)

Removal

  1. Loosen the wheel nuts.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.
  1. Remove the wheel.

  1. Disconnect the parking brake cable.
    1. Pull back the parking brake lever.
    1. Disconnect the cable from the parking brake lever.
    1. Remove the conduit retaining clip.
    1. Disconnect the cable and conduit.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Support the caliper to one side to prevent damage to the brake hose.
    Detach the caliper.

  1. Remove the brake pads.

Installation

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:As the pistons are retracted into the housing, brake fluid may be displaced from the master cylinder.
    Using the special tool, fully retract the caliper piston.

  1. Install the brake pads.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the brake pad springs are correctly located in the caliper.
    Install the caliper.

  1. Connect the parking brake cable.
    1. Position the cable and conduit.
    1. Install the cable retaining clip.
    1. Pull back the parking brake lever.
    1. Connect the cable to the parking brake lever.

  1. Install the wheels.
