Removal and Installation

General Equipment
Bolt (finis code 4413741)

Removal and Installation

All vehicles
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
    For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

  1. Location of the engine upper cover retaining clips.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Care must be taken when releasing the fourth retaining clip and maneuvering the engine upper cover past the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the MAP sensor.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Only remove and install the engine upper cover in the sequence shown.
    Remove the engine upper cover.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
    For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation).

  1. Remove the engine undershield.
    • Rotate the locking tangs counterclockwise.

  1. Install bolt (finis code 4413741) to the accessory drive belt tensioner.

  1. Remove the accessory drive belt.
    1. Screw the bolt into the accessory drive belt tensioner until the accessory drive belt is de-tensioned.
    1. Remove the accessory drive belt from the pulleys.
Vehicles with air conditioning
WARNING:
WARNING:Remove and discard the bolt installed to the accessory drive belt tensioner is removed from the accessory drive belt tensioner. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:Remove and discard the bolt installed to the accessory drive belt tensioner is removed from the accessory drive belt tensioner. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Vehicles without air conditioning
WARNING:
WARNING:Remove and discard the bolt installed to the accessory drive belt tensioner is removed from the accessory drive belt tensioner. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
CAUTION:

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
