Removal and Installation

    • Roof front frame

Removal

  1. General Notes
    • Necessary removal work: wings, doors, driver and passenger seats, A-pillar trim and roof frame trim
    • Move the folding roof into the operating position.
    • Reposition the carpeting and the wiring harness away from the working area.
NOTE:
NOTE:The location of the separating cut may be changed depending on the extent of the damage. The repair shown only describes a complete replacement in full.

    • Mill out the spot welds.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The operation shown must also be carried out on the left-hand side of the vehicle.
    Front right roof frame
    • Mill out the spot welds.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The operations shown must also be carried out on the left-hand side of the vehicle.
    Front right roof frame
    1. Cut open the MIG weld seam.
    1. Warm the adhesive application area (approx. 170º C).

Installation

NOTE:
NOTE:Before resistance spot welding of body panels with a total panel thickness of 3 mm and greater, the welding equipment instructions contained in sub-section 501-25 must be followed.

    NOTE:The operations shown must also be carried out on the left-hand side of the vehicle.
    Front right roof frame
    1. Before inserting the roof frame, apply 2-part metal adhesive.
    1. Continuous MIG weld seam.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:The operation shown must also be carried out on the left-hand side of the vehicle.
    Front right roof frame
    • Resistance spot welding.

  1. Roof front frame
    • Resistance spot welding.
