Remove the steering gear exhaust heat shield. | | -
Disconnect the power steering lines from the steering gear valve body. - Remove the retaining bolt.
- Rotate the clamp plate.
- Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.
- Discard the O-ring seals.

Detach the power steering lines from the steering gear. | | -
Detach the power steering lines from the wheelhouse assembly. | | -
CAUTION:Make sure the O-ring seals are not damaged. If the O-ring seals are damaged install new O-ring seals. Disconnect the power steering pump to steering gear pressure line from the power steering fluid cooler. - Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

Remove the power steering pressure (PSP) switch. - Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

Detach the coolant hose from the wheelhouse assembly and position to one side. | | -
Disconnect the power steering line from the power steering pump. - Allow the fluid to drain into a suitable container.

Remove the power steering pump to steering gear pressure line. | Installation | -
If a new fluid line is being installed, push the new line into the new union until it clips into place. | | -
Using the special tool, install a new O-ring seal onto the power steering line to power steering pump union. - Push the O-ring seal onto the special tool.
- Locate the special tool onto the union and install the O-ring seal.

Install new O-ring seals onto the power steering lines. | | -
To install, reverse the removal procedure. | | |
