18. Release the 2 static lumbar spring clips from the backrest frame and remove the static lumbar assembly.

Seat with side air bag

19. Remove the 2 nuts and side air bag mounting bracket.

Seats with heat

20. If necessary, remove the backrest heater mat from the backrest foam pad.

Assembly

Seats with heat

1. If necessary, attach the backrest heater mat to the backrest foam pad.

Seats with side air bag

2. Position the side air bag mounting bracket and install the 2 nuts.

-

Tighten to 6 Nm (53 lb-in).

All seats

3. Install the static lumbar assembly.
4. Position the backrest frame into the backrest foam pad.
5. Position the backrest trim cover to the backrest foam pad.

6. NOTE:  The head restraint guides are not interchangeable.

Install the 2 head restraint guides through the backrest trim cover and into the backrest frame.

7. Position the hard back panel and install the pin-type retainers.
8. Roll the backrest trim cover down, attaching the hook and loop strips and install hog rings attaching the backrest trim cover to the backrest foam

pad in front and the backrest frame wire in the rear.

If equipped with heat or a side air bag, feed the wire harness through the side of the backrest trim cover.

9. Attach the hook and loop strips at the bottom of the backrest trim cover.

10. Attach the inner and outer backrest trim cover lower J-clips.
11. Position the recliners to the backrest frame and install the 4 recliner-to-backrest frame bolts.

Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).

12. Install the head restraint.

Seat with side air bag

13. WARNING: 

-

If the air bag cover has separated or the air bag material has been exposed, install a new side air bag module.Do not attempt to repair
the air bag module. Failure to do so may result in personal injury in the event of an air bag deployment.

Inspect the mounting surfaces of the side air bag module for any foreign objects before installing the side air bag module. If any
foreign objects are found, remove them. Failure to do so may result in personal injury, in the event of an air bag deployment.

Connect the side air bag module electrical connector, then slide and engage the side air bag electrical connector locking clip.

14. Install the side air bag module to the mounting bracket on the backrest frame.

Position the side air bag module locator hook in the side air bag bracket.

15. Align the bolt hole and install the side air bag bolt.

Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

16. Install the side air bag bolt cover.

All seats

17. Install the front seat backrest.
18. Install the front seat and repower the SRS. Do not prove out the SRS at this time.
19. Carry out the Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS) System Zero Seat Weight Test and prove out the SRS.
