5. Remove the clamp nut and the gearshift cable clamp.
6. Remove the restraint control module (RCM).
7. Position the insulation blanket aside.
8. Remove the 2 gearshift cable nuts and detach the cables from the floor.

To install, tighten to 8 Nm (71 inch lbs.).
9. CAUTION: Carefully disconnect the cable from the shift lever assembly. Do not damage the shift cable retainers.
Disconnect the shift cables from the gearshift lever assembly.
10. Pull the shift cables through the bulkhead into the interior.
Installation
1. CAUTION: When inserting the gearshift cables through the dash panel, make sure the arrow on the grommet is pointing upward.
Carefully install the shift cables into position. Do not damage the shift cable retainers.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Adjust the gearshift cables.
