Engine Control Module: Removal and Replacement
Powertrain Control Module (PCM)
Removal
1. Retrieve the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration retrieval steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure.

2. Remove the cowl panel grille.
3. Disconnect the 3 PCM electrical connectors.
4. Remove the PCM.

Remove the lower bolt and the upper PCM bracket bolt.
5. Remove the bolt and the bracket from the PCM.
Installation
1. Install the bracket and bolt on the PCM.

Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).
2. Install the PCM and the lower bolt.

Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).
3. Install the upper PCM bracket bolt.

Tighten to 11 Nm (97 lb-in).
4. Connect the 3 PCM electrical connectors.
5. Install the cowl panel grille.
6. Restore the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration restore steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure.
