Brake System - General Information - Brake System Galaxy 2000.75 (04/2000-02/2006)
Description and Operation

The braking system fitted is a conventional diagonally split, dual circuit design featuring front and rear internally ventilated brake discs.

The front and rear calipers are of single, sliding piston design which ensures the equal effort is applied through both brake pads. The pads in all cases are asbestos-free.

The parking brake control is located between the front seats and operates the rear brakes via a cable system.

The master cylinder is of tandem design and is linked to a brake booster to reduce brake pedal effort. The tandem design will make sure that in the event of one brake circuit failure the other will remain fully operational. The master cylinder and brake booster are positioned to suit the drive of the vehicle.

On diesel variants, the brake booster vacuum pump is an integral part of the fuel pump.
