Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Release the parking brake.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section  100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. Loosen the parking brake adjustment nut.

  1. Detach the rear parking brake cables from the equalizer.
    1. Detach the parking brake cables.
    1. Detach the parking brake cables from the brackets.
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Remove the parking brake control upper trim.
    1. Pull the trim up.
    1. Remove the trim.

  1. Remove the parking brake control lower trim.

  1. Detach the parking brake control.

  1. Disconnect the parking brake indicator switch electrical connection.

  1. Detach the parking brake cable.
  1. Remove the parking brake.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
