Removal and Installation

Removal

RHD vehicles
  1. Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02 Jacking and Lifting.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Drain the excess power steering fluid into a suitable drain pan.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not drop the O-ring seals.
    Disconnect the power steering pressure and return lines.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    1. Disconnect the power steering pressure and return lines.
  1. Lower the vehicle.
LHD vehicles

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Drain the excess power steering fluid into a suitable drain pan.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Do not drop the O-ring seals.
    Disconnect the power steering pressure and return lines.
    1. Remove the bolt.
    1. Disconnect the power steering pressure and return lines.

  1. Remove the power steering return line bracket-to-gear bolt.
All vehicles

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:LHD shown, RHD drive similar.
    Release the clamp, disconnect and remove the power steering return line.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure the O-ring seals are on the power steering pressure and return lines.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
