Removal and Installation

Removal

CAUTION:
CAUTION:Prior to removal of the module, it is necessary to upload module configuration information to the diagnostic tool. This information needs to be downloaded into the new module once installed. For additional information, refer to Section 418-01 Module Configuration.
CAUTION:
CAUTION:Electronic modules are sensitive to electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.
NOTE:
NOTE:LHD shown, RHD similar.

  1. Loosen the tilt lever (if equipped) and lower steering column.
  1. On RHD vehicles, remove the instrument cluster finish panel. For additional information, refer to Section 501-12 Instrument Panel and Console.
    On LHD vehicles, position the transmission range selector (if equipped) down to provide access to the instrument cluster finish panel and instrument cluster.

  1. Remove the screws and the instrument cluster finish panel.

  1. Remove the screws.

  1. Disconnect the electrical connectors and remove the instrument cluster.
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Once the new module is installed, it is necessary to download the module configuration information from the diagnostic tool into the new instrument cluster. For additional information, refer to Section 418-01 Module Configuration.
    To install, reverse the removal procedure.
