Removal and Installation

Removal and Installation

  1. Position the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position and remove the ignition key.
    • Rotate the steering wheel until the steering column locks into position.
  1. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to Section 501-20A Safety Belt SystemSection 501-20B Supplemental Restraint System.
  1. Open the cover on the underside of the steering wheel.
  1. Remove the steering wheel pinion bolt.
    • To install, tighten to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft).

  1. Remove the steering wheel.
    1. Position the steering wheel rearward.
    1. Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
