Removal and Installation
With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to Section
100-02 Jacking and Lifting
.
Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section
414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables
.
Remove the 7 bolts and the LH splash shield.
To install, tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
NOTE:
If necessary, lubricate the sensor threads with penetrating and lock lubricant to assist in removal.
Using the special tool, remove the HO2S.
To install, tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
NOTE:
Apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the HO2S.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
