Lubricate the torque converter pilot hub with grease. | | -
Rotate the torque converter to place the paint daub in the 6 o'clock position. | | -
Install the special tool. | | -
Position the transaxle in place. | | -
Once the transaxle is in place, prior to bolting it to the engine, remove the special tool. | | -
Move the transaxle assembly toward the engine assembly and install the bolt. - Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).

Install the transaxle retaining bolt. - Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the lower transaxle retaining bolts. - Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the 4 new torque converter nuts. - Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

Install the rubber access cover. | | -
Install the transmission fluid cooler tube. - Tighten to 23 Nm (17 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the output shaft speed (OSS) sensor. - Tighten to 13 Nm (10 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the fluid cooler tube. - Connect the OSS sensor.
- Connect the turbine shaft speed (TSS) sensor (white connector).
- Install the fluid cooler tube.
- Install the fluid cooler bolt.

Install the starter motor isolator. | | -
Install the starter motor. - Tighten to 35 Nm (26 lb-ft).

Install the wire harness clip retainer and the ground wire to the starter bolts. - Tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).

If installing a new or remanufactured transaxle, install the lower rear mount bracket. - Tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft).

Install the LH upper transaxle mount assembly. - Install the 4 nuts for the bracket.
- Install the through bolt.

Remove the special tools. | | -
Remove the special tools. | | -
Remove the special tools. | | -
Install the upper transaxle bolts. - Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
| | -
Connect the transmission range (TR) sensor electrical connector. | | -
Connect the shift cable to the manual lever. | | -
Install the shift cable bracket, ground wires and plug in the bulkhead electrical connector. - Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

NOTE:If installing an exchange transaxle, the digital TR sensor must be aligned. Using the special tool, align the digital TR sensor. - Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).

Install the rear transaxle mount center bolt. - Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).

If the vehicle is not equipped with a power takeoff (PTO), install the dampener. | | -
Install the PTO assembly. - Tighten to 45 Nm (33 lb-ft).

If equipped with a PTO, install the driveshaft. - Tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the bracket. - Tighten to 40 Nm (30 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the front bolts on the exhaust-to-engine bracket. - Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the nuts on the rear of the exhaust-to-engine bracket. - Tighten to 30 Nm (22 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the intermediate shaft. | | -
Install the intermediate shaft retaining nuts. - Tighten to 27 Nm (20 lb-ft).

Install the RH halfshaft and lower control arm bolts. - Install the lower control arm bolt.
- Install the lower control arm bolt.

Install the LH halfshaft into the wheel knuckle and install a new nut. - Tighten to 290 Nm (214 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the cross brace and the rear nut. - Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the 2 bolts for the brace. - Tighten to 90 Nm (66 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the bolt for the mount. - Tighten to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
| | -
Install the cross brace and the 4 bolts. - Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).

Install the LH splash shield and the 7 retainers. | | -
Install the RH splash shield and the 7 retainers. | | -
Install the vent tube to the fluid level indicator. | | -
Install the air cleaner assembly. | | -
NOTE:Before installing the battery tray, check the vent tube hose for any obstructions, kinks or incorrect routing position. | | -
Fill the transaxle with clean automatic transmission fluid. | | -
Check the fluid level and correct as necessary. | | |
