Removal

  1. Standard preparatory measures
    • Make a note of the radio keycode.
    • Make a note of the pre-set radio stations.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Disconnect the battery earth lead.
    Remove the top engine cover and the air intake hose.
    1. Bolts - top engine cover
    1. Two positive crankcase ventilation hoses
    1. Hose clip
    • Take off the air intake hose.
    • Pull off both brake booster vacuum pipes from the upper intake manifold.
  1. Remove the throttle cable bracket and the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve and disconnect the plugs.
    1. Pull off the clip and unhook both cables.
    1. Detach the throttle cable bracket (three bolts).
    1. IAC valve multiplug
    1. Throttle position (TP) sensor plug
    1. Vacuum hose - EGR valve
    1. EGR valve (two bolts).
    • Remove the gasket.

  1. Pull off the positive crankcase ventilation hose.

  1. Disconnect the multiplug and the vacuum hose from the electronic vacuum regulator.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Loosening sequence
    Remove the upper intake manifold.
    • Remove the gaskets.

Installation
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Insulating bushes on the bolts of the upper intake manifold.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Tightening sequence.
    Install the upper intake manifold with new gaskets.

  1. Connect the multiplug and the vacuum hose to the electronic vacuum regulator.

  1. Push on the positive crankcase ventilation hose.

  1. Fit the throttle cable bracket and the EGR valve and connect the plugs.
    1. Install the throttle cable bracket (three bolts)
    1. Hook both cables into the throttle cable bracket and push on the clip.
    1. IAC valve plug
    1. TP sensor plug
    1. EGR valve vacuum hose
    1. Fit the EGR valve with a new gasket (two bolts).

  1. Fit the air intake hose and the top engine cover.
    • Bring the air intake hose into installation position.
    1. Bolts - top engine cover
    1. Two positive crankcase ventilation hoses
    1. Hose clamps
    • Clip both vacuum pipes into the upper intake manifold.
  1. Standard finishing operations
    • Check the routing of the vacuum hoses and wiring and fix them in place with cable ties .
    • Connect the battery earth lead.
    • Reprogram the pre-set radio stations.
    • Reset the clock.
