Removal and Installation

Special Tool(s)

Remover/Installer, Cooling Hose Clamp

Removal

All vehicles
  1. Drain the cooling system.
    For additional information, refer to Cooling System Draining, Filling and Bleeding in this section.
  1. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
    For additional information, refer to Cooling Fan Motor and Shroud in this section.

  1. Using the special tool, disconnect the radiator lower hose.
Vehicles with 2.5L or diesel engine
  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1. Using the special tool, disconnect the radiator upper hose.

  1. Disconnect the coolant expansion tank hose.
  1. Raise the vehicle
Vehicles with 1.8L or 2.0L engine

  1. Using the special tool, disconnect the coolant expansion tank hose and the radiator upper hose.
Vehicles with 2.0L diesel engine

  1. Disconnect the oil cooler coolant hose from the radiator.

  1. Detach the oil cooler coolant hose from the retaining clip and remove the retaining clip from the subframe.
All vehicles

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Support the air conditioning condenser.
    Remove the radiator.
    1. Remove the air conditioning condenser retaining bolts.
    1. Slide the cooling fan motor and shroud upwards out of the retaining brackets and downwards to remove the radiator.

  1. Remove the radiator rubber insulators.

Installation

  1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
