Removal and Installation Removal | -
Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures). | | -
Detach the air cleaner housing and the air cleaner outlet hoses. - Disconnect the mass air flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.
- Disconnect the air cleaner outlet hoses.
- Lift the air cleaner housing to detach it from the retaining clips.

Disconnect the clean air hose from the air cleaner housing. | | -
Disconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector. | Installation NOTE:Install a new CKP sensor. | -
Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation). | | -
Remove the crankshaft pulley splash shield. | | -
NOTE:Only turn the engine in the normal direction of rotation. Using a suitable mirror, view through the CKP sensor housing. With the aid of another technician, turn the engine until a flywheel tooth is visible through the CKP sensor housing. | | -
CAUTION:The CKP sensor tip must rest on a flywheel tooth. Incorrect installation may result in damage to the the CKP sensor. NOTE:Make sure that the CKP sensor housing is clean and free from foreign material. Install the CKP sensor. | | -
Connect the CKP sensor electrical connector. | | -
Connect the clean air hose to the air cleaner housing. | | -
Install the air cleaner housing and the air cleaner outlet pipe. - Install the air cleaner.
- Connect the air cleaner outlet hoses.
- Connect the MAF sensor electrical connector.

Install the engine cover. | | -
Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to: Lifting (100-02 Jacking and Lifting, Description and Operation). | | -
Install the crankshaft pulley splash shield. | | -
Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to: Battery Disconnect and Connect (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, General Procedures). | | -
Initialize the door window motors. For additional information, refer to: Door Window Motor Initialization (501-11 Glass, Frames and Mechanisms, General Procedures). | | |
