Disassembly and Assembly

Disassembly

NOTE:
NOTE:The occupant classification sensor (if equipped), is an integral part of the passenger seat cushion and cannot be serviced separately. If the occupant classification sensor is found to be unserviceable, following the correct diagnosis and testing, a new passenger seat cushion must be installed.

  1. Detach the cushion cover from the underside of the seat.
    • Detach the retaining strips.
  1. Remove the cushion from the seat base.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:When removing the cushion cover take care not to damage the cover or retaining clips.
    Remove the cushion cover.
    1. Roll the cushion cover inwards to access the retaining clips and hog rings.
    1. Detach the cushion cover from the retaining clips.
    1. Cut the hog rings.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:When removing the heater mat take care not to damage the cushion pad.
    Remove the heater mat (if equipped).

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:On a passenger seat, which is not equipped with a heater mat, a cover protects the safety belt minder sensor.
    Remove the passenger seat safety belt minder sensor (if equipped).

Assembly

  1. Apply suitable adhesive to the heater mat (if equipped) in the areas shown.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Use hog ring pliers to close the hog rings. Do not use any other tool. The hog rings must be closed to overlap as illustrated.
    To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
