Roof Opening Panel - Roof Opening Panel Motor Mondeo 2001 (10/2000-02/2007)
Removal and Installation

Removal

  1. Remove the overhead console. For additional information, refer to Section  501-12 Instrument Panel and Console.

  1. Disconnect the roof opening panel motor electrical connector (headliner shown removed for clarity).

  1. Remove the roof opening panel motor.

Installation
  1. Remove the roof opening panel guide arm covers.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:The guide pins must be aligned centrally between the lugs as shown.
    Check the alignment of the left-hand and right-hand cable guide (left-hand side shown).
    • Depress the bar.

  1. Adjust the left-hand cable guide pin.
    • Using a suitable screwdriver, move the cable in the direction required.

  1. Adjust the right-hand cable guide pin.
    • Using a suitable screwdriver, move the cable in the direction required.

  1. Install the roof opening panel guide arm covers.
  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Support the roof opening panel motor.
    Connect the roof opening panel motor electrical connector.
  1. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
  1. Connect the roof opening panel control switch electrical connector.
  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:This step must be carried out if installing a previously used roof opening panel motor.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:This step is not necessary when installing a new roof opening panel motor.
    Carry out the erasing roof opening panel motor initialization procedure.
    For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization in this section.
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Section  414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables.
  1. Disconnect the roof opening panel control switch electrical connector.

  1. Install the roof opening panel motor.
  1. Install the overhead console. For additional information, refer to Section  501-12 Instrument Panel and Console.
  1. Carry out the initial roof opening panel motor initialization procedure.
    For additional information, refer to Roof Opening Panel Motor Initialization in this section.
