Remover, Camshaft Sprocket

  1. Special Tool(s): 303-435, 303-435-06

  1. Remove the Fuel Filter.
    Refer to: Fuel Filter - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) Diesel (310-01 Fuel Tank and Lines, Removal and Installation).

  1. Clean the area around the fuel injection supply manifold, high pressure fuel supply lines and surrounding areas.
    Refer to: Fuel Injection Component Cleaning (303-04D Fuel Charging and Controls - 1.8L Duratorq-TDCi (Lynx) Diesel, General Procedures).

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Use an open-ended wrench to prevent the component from turning.

  1. CAUTION:
    CAUTION:Make sure that all openings are sealed. Use new blanking caps.

  1. Discard the fuel injector fuel return line retaining clips.

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Note the position of each component before removal.
    • Install a clean blanking cap to the fuel injector fuel return line port.
    • Discard the fuel injector retaining clamps retaining bolts
    • Discard the fuel injector to cylinder head sealing washers.

  1. Discard the crankshaft pulley retaining bolt.
    Special Tool(s): 205-072

  1. Special Tool(s): 205-072

  1. Discard the timing belt.

  1. Loosen the camshaft pulley retaining bolt by 5 turns.
    Special Tool(s): 205-072

  1. Special Tool(s): 303-651

  1. Discard the fuel pump seal retainer.

  1. Remove the clutch disc and pressure plate.
    Refer to: Clutch Disc and Pressure Plate (308-01 Clutch - Vehicles With: 6-Speed Manual Transmission (MMT6), Removal and Installation).

  1. Discard the flywheel retaining bolts.
    Special Tool(s): 303-393
