  1. Coat the input shaft splines with a thin coating of grease.
    Material: High-Temperature Grease

  1. This step is only required when replacing the transmission.
    Torque: 32 Nm
  1. Refer to: Lifting (100-04 Noise, Vibration and Harshness, Description and Operation).

  1. General Equipment: Transmission jack
    General Equipment: Wooden Block
    General Equipment: Securing Strap

  1. Perform this and the following operation simultaneously.
    Torque: 48 Nm

  1. Torque: 48 Nm
  1. Remove the following items:

  1. Torque:
    Stage 1:
    35 Nm
    Stage 2:
    60°

  1. Special Tool(s): 303-290B

  1. Lower the vehicle.

  1.  
    1. Torque: 24 Nm
    1. Torque: 148 Nm
  1. Refer to: Lifting (100-04 Noise, Vibration and Harshness, Description and Operation).
  1. Remove the Special Tool(s): 303-290B, 303-290-03A, 303-290-13, 303-290A-15, 303-290B-16

  1. Torque: 48 Nm

  1. Torque: 10 Nm

  1. Remove the special tool before completely installing the halfshaft.
    Special Tool(s): 205-775

  1.  
    1. NOTE:
      NOTE:Make sure that a new component is installed.
    1. NOTE:
      NOTE:Make sure that new components are installed.

  1.  
    1. Torque: 6 Nm
    1. Torque: 6 Nm
    1. Torque: 25 Nm
    1. Torque: 25 Nm

  1. Remove the special tool before completely installing the halfshaft.
    Special Tool(s): 205-775

  1. On both sides.
    Torque: 20 Nm

  1. On both sides.
    Torque:
    Stage 1:
    45 Nm
    Stage 2:
    80°

  1.  
    1. Material: Grease
    1. NOTE:
      NOTE:Only tighten the nuts finger tight at this stage.

    1. Torque: 24 Nm
    1. Torque: 24 Nm

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that a new clamp is installed.
    NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that this component is installed to the noted removal position.
    Torque: 24 Nm

  1. NOTE:
    NOTE:Make sure that the exhaust flexible pipe is not twisted.
    General Equipment: Tire lever
    Torque: 48 Nm

  1. Torque: 10 Nm

  1. Torque: 10 Nm
  1. Install the following items:
    1. Refer to: Front Subframe (502-00 Uni-Body, Subframe and Mounting System, Removal and Installation).
    1. Refer to: Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires, Removal and Installation).

    1. Torque: 40 Nm
    1. Torque: 48 Nm

  1. Refer to: Clutch System Bleeding (308-00 Manual Transmission/Transaxle and Clutch - General Information, General Procedures).

  1. Torque: 25 Nm

  1. Torque: 25 Nm

  1. Refer to: Gearshift Cable Adjustment - Vehicles With: 6-Speed Manual Transmission (M66) (308-00 Manual Transmission/Transaxle and Clutch - General Information, General Procedures).

    1. Torque: 25 Nm
    1. Torque: 48 Nm

  1. Torque: 10 Nm
  1. Install the following items:
    1. Refer to: Battery (414-01 Battery, Mounting and Cables, Removal and Installation).
    1. Refer to: Air Cleaner (303-12F Intake Air Distribution and Filtering - 2.2L Duratorq-TDCi (DW) Diesel, Removal and Installation).

  1. Torque: 10 Nm
  1. Refer to: Lifting (100-04 Noise, Vibration and Harshness, Description and Operation).
  1. Refer to: Transmission Draining and Filling (308-03D Manual Transmission/Transaxle - Vehicles With: 6-Speed Manual Transmission (M66), General Procedures).

  1. Lower the vehicle.
